Hello, Kebbie,
I am a spinner as well as a fanatical knitter. I would be glad to guide 
you along the way as you take this class. I would suggest that before 
you sign up, that you buy a Turkish spindle first. I'm sure your craft 
store sells them if it is running spinning classes. Buy the spindle and 
some spinning wool and practice a bit. With this relatively inexpensive 
purchase you can make sure that you don't have an allergy to your 
spinning fiber and that the bits of spinning fiber that remain on your 
clothes and in your carpet don't cause a problem. Make sure that the 
top of the shaft of the Turkish spinner either has a hook or at the 
least an end without a sharp point;. Ouch for the fingers! When you get 
home with these things, let me know.
