[NFB-Krafters-Korner] tale of woe and a question

Good afternoon,

I went very carefully with my walking problems to my stash in the basement.
I acquired 3 bins of yarn on a trade. I pulled out a bag of 15 skeins of
bulky yarn. Some of it is actually a number 4 yarn, but makes up extremely
soft and wonderful. I made 2 hats with matching scarves to send to Pine
Ridge.

Here is my problem. My son-in-law helped me look on numerous sites and this
yarn doesn't seem to be made any more. It is Lion Brand Quick and Cozy. We
even looked on the Lion Brand web site. I also called a couple of stores,
and no dice.

I called Michael's, and I think the clerk was a bit snobby. She really put
down what she called mill yarn. Apparently Lion is what she considers mill
yarn. I tried to call Lion Brand, and I keep getting an all circuits are
busy message.

The Caron Simply Soft isn't what I want, and I don't want a heavy bulky
yarn.

Does anybody have any suggestions?

I hope Jim can take me by Michael's Wednesday to feel some yarns.

My 7 year old grandson will be walking to school, because he lives very
close to his school. He still can get pretty cold even if it only takes him
10 minutes. I decided to make him one of these fantastic hats. When my
daughter saw the hat, she thinks her whole family should have one. So, now I
need to make 4 hats. None of the colors I have are really appropriate for
boys and men. They want navy blue with a different color stripe for each of
them.
