[NFB-Krafters-Korner] Another question

Hi Dixie, 
I have a pattern that has Make 1 in it. I have tried to figure it out. can you send a easy to fallow and remember  directions  for both Make one Left and Make one Right? My pattern for a scarft has Make 1 Left only. When I try to make it I  end up with a hole , so I know that I am doing  something wrong. Help! This pattern is for a Xmas Gift. Thanks so much for your help.

The M1 is a type of increase.  The cast on is casting on a group of

So how is this different from a m1?
