Hi Jolene, oh yes, now I know what they are and what they are used for, folks, they are usually hammered into the rocks for the climbers lines to be attached to.

caribiners are large metal clips. some are heavy enough to be used in mountain climbing.
they make them in all sizes and some have locks on them. i use a 4 inch size
