[NFB-Krafters-Korner] polymer clay?

HI Crafters.


On Monday I went to a bead shop with a friend. They were having a class on Polymer clay. I bought 3 different colours of clay and made some pendants and beads with help. They used a pasta machine and something called an extruder in order to blend the colours. I have left over clay and one of the ladies suggested I could make some beads on my own, by rolling them in to balls and putting a hole in them and then baking them.    I am thinking maybe I could make different shapes? Maybe use a rolling pin instead of the pasta machine?  Has anyone had any experience using this? Any tips on baking it? 
ideas on how to use this left over clay would be wonderful.
