[NFB-Krafters-Korner] Thumb gusset help

Good Morning Lovette, Shelley recently taught a mitten class. I'll look at
the mittens that Terry made for me for Christmas, and see if there are any
gaps at the base of the thumb.

Well I have knitted a lot of mittens and I use the method of using 2
circular needles.    To keep with the number of stitches in the thumb
area,and when picking up the correct # of stitches, there are some gaps.  I
leave a long end of yarnwhen   I pick up the stitchesand then finish off the
thumb working from the base of the thumber going up to the tip of thumb.
Thumbs are the last thing I do.  With the long end of yarn that I leftand go
backand stitvch the gaps together.  I tend to go around the base of the
thumband only have 1 end of the yarn to hide.
