The mattress stitch is OK.  Or people say that a crochet chain stitch sewing
together is nice, though I don't know that one.

I have completed my daughter's shawl except for sewing together the
beginning and end. It is wedges like the circular dishcloth except way
bigger. I don't want to use the blanket stitch. Any ideas for bringing the
two edges together?
