That was one of my problem i was trying to crochet from left to right and couldn’t get the hang of it. It started to come together when i realised that for me at least i was crocheting the wrong way.

When I first began crocheting, I crocheted from left to right believing that that was the way to do it. An experienced crocheter was amazed that I was able to do that right-handed. She called that a different crochet stitch name which I don’t remember. I did find that crocheting from left to right was easier for a right-handed person and suspect that crocheting from left to right would be easier for a left-handed person. I do not know if the stitch looks different moving in the opposite directions, but don’t think it should look different?
