March Charity Donations

Outstanding stats for this month. I love all the participation. This month
there was 238 hand crafted items and 26 miscellaneous items donated and 52
volunteer hours recorded. If you're wondering what some of the items
received this month were as follows crafted items it was sofa pillows, hats,
Adault and baby blankets and squares to be made into blankets. The
miscellaneous items were craft supplies, food items and medical supplies.
The volunteer hours were 47 spent teaching craft classes, , keeping
records, and volunteering at an intake day for Blankets 4 Canada. A monitary
cash donation of $16 was given for a skein of Navajo-Churro yarn to save the
seep drive. Here is a little history. The churro sheep came over with the
Spaniards in the 1600s. When the government slaughtered the native american
people and drove them onto reservations the killed the Churro sheep as
well--almost driving them to extinction. The Navajo people have worked hard
to build the herds back up and have a drive going to save the sheep.

All these items and peoples time was donated to 7 organizations. They wer
Friends of Pine Ridge Reservation, High Flex School for young women, BEnally
family to save the seep drive, St. Rose, Yarn Angels, knitting group
Blankets for Canada, Krafters Korner and The Church of Jesus Christ of
Latter Day Saints, Olney Ward. If you have any donations to report you can
send them to me at

the last 9 months.

Did you know sprinkles on a doughnut is like glitter to a crafter.
