hi, i fixed this up a bit since the directions kind of ran together. i
made listed steps for each row. still working on fixing some minor
issues like punctuation but i think it looks much better now.
if anyone wants a word doc let me know


Tutorial beaded safety pin Christmas tree

I took the basis for this pattern from instructions I saw on EHow.

Materials and tools you will Need for this project:

•	100 #3 safety pins
•	400 (18 mm) sunburst crystal beads (I used green but you could use
any color you want)
•	455 (8 mm) round faceted crystal beads in the same color
•	20-gauge wire
•	Needle-nose pliers
•	Wire cutters

First:

1.	Fill all the safety pins with beads in the following order: one
round bead; three starbursts; one round bead; and one starburst.
2.	Carefully close the safety pins.

Row 1:

1.	Put a piece of wire through the end of a pin,
2.	add one bead and then a pin and another bead until five pins are strung.
3.	Bring the wire together and pull the pins and beads tight to make a circle.
4.	Twist the wire together
5.	cut the ends and tuck them under


Row 2

1.	Thread of wire through the head of one pin from the first row,
2.	string one beaded pin, one round bead and another beaded pin.
3.	Put the wire through the head of the next pin from the first row
and repeat the pattern until 10 new pins are used.
4.	Pull the wire tight to make a circle
5.	twist and cut the wire.


Row 3

1.	Put a piece of wire through the head of a pin from second row
2.	string one beaded pin, one round bead and one beaded pin.
3.	Put wire through head of the next second row pin
4.	string one round bead, one beaded pin and one round bead.
5.	Repeat this pattern until you have used 15 of the beaded pins
6.	Pull the wire tight to make a circle
7.	twist and cut wire.

Row 4

1.	Put a piece of wire through the head of a pin from row three,
2.	string one beaded pin, one round bead and one beaded pin,
3.	then the head of the next row-three pin, then string one round
bead, one beaded pin and one round bead,
4.	then the head of the next pin, followed by one round bead, one
beaded pin, one round bead
5.	repeat this pattern until you've have used 20 beaded pins
6.	Pull the wire tight to make a circle
7.	twist and cut.


Row 5

1.	Put a piece of wire through the head of a pin from the fourth row
2.	string one beaded pin, one round bead, one beaded pin,
3.	then thread it through the head of the next pin and string one
round bead, one beaded pin and one round bead.
4.	, thread the wire through the head of the next pin and then one
round bead, one beaded pin, one round bead.
5.	Thread the wire through the head of the next pin and string one
round bead, one beaded pin, one round bead
6.	repeat this pattern until 25 of the beaded pins are used.
7.	Pull the wire tight to make a circle
8.	twist and cut.

Row 6

1.	thread a piece of wire through the head of a pin from the fifth row
2.	string one round bead, one beaded pin and one round bead
3.	repeat this pattern until 25 beaded pins are used.
4.	Pull the wire tight to make a circle
5.	twist and cut.

Finishing:



1.	Thread a piece of the wire through the head of a pin from the sixth row
2.	string one bead before placing the wire through the head of another
pin from row six.
3.	Continue this pattern until every pin has a bead between it.
4.	Pull the wire tight,
5.	twist and cut



you can place a small strand of battery powered lights inside the tree

you can use  different size safety pins and smaller sunburst beads to
make smaller trees.
Usually , Christmas tree color is green, but clear beads look great
with gold safety pins. Whatever color you use, be sure the beads are
translucent so the light can shine through.
You can even replace some of the 8mm round beads that are the color of
your tree with multicolored beads to make it look like little lights.
I have even seen people use star or snowflake sequins threaded between
the round beads for added decoration.
I am going to try some purple and blue trees.

You can also make a star or snowflake topper for your tree.
There are patterns for small angel ornaments made from safety pins
that you could also use as a topper
In many craft stores, they sell miniature Christmas tree ornaments and
garlands that would also look nice on this tree.
