Not sure about using the silk. I know people who use some finer threading
place a toothpick inside of there row of beads to help hold the shape. 20 or
22 gage wire is what is recommended for pony beading. The wire would be
compared to the thickness of the wire on a paper clip if that is of some
help to you.

Did you know white oak is the easiest wood to bend using steam

Would using satin make your pony beaded items too floppy? I just think it is
easier to handle. It doesn't get any kinks like wire can sometimes. Also,
what gage wire do the projects take if it really works better than cord?
