Hello everyone, I want to remind you all about my ten-stitch blanket class that is coming up later this month. I want to take this opportunity to answer some questions that people have asked me just in case you have the same questions.
How much yarn will you need? Well, of course it depends on the size of your blanket. I have used about 1600 yards of bulky yarn on a queen-size blanket.
What kind of yarn do you need?
I suggest the bulky or #6 yarn as you will only need 1 strand of yarn. If you do need to use worsted weight or #4 yarn, you will need double the amount of yarn. I made a blanket using worsted weight yarn, and it is very heavy.
What size loom will I need?
You will only be using ten pegs, but do not use the flower loom. I recommend not using the fine-gaige looms because the stitches will be tighter making the blanket very heavy. Also, it would be harder to pick up stitches with the smaller stitches that are made with these looms. I suggest that you use a loom in your standard loom sets but use a loom that you will not need for the next three to six months, because it will be tied up with a nice blanket.
That’s about all for now. IF you have any questions, please feel free to call me at (501) 680-7007.
Now, sign up so we can have some fun making this blanket.
