no, I don't think that it is tacky to sing Happy Birthday to your Graandpa, it is done in love that your Grandmother has for your Grandpa. I bet that she would like it very much. At this time you also think about what your Grandmother would want. I am sure that there will be many people who will be  there who love and care about your Grandpa very much.  THINKING of you and your family at this difficult time. Take care.

Thank you so much everyone! It's a relief and a trying time all at once. I keep needing to stop worrying about my grandpa. Because my grandma wanted to be cremated. We have to wait until March 18 to really say goodbye. So you can celebrate St. Patrick's Day, unfortunately without me.  I feel sorry that it is going to be two days after my grandpa's 97th birthday. We will probably have his favorite cake at the luncheon afterwards. Most people I've talk to didn't think it was tacky to have the cake and sing happy birthday to him but one sister does and so us to have to comply to her wishes I guess. Anyone else think that's tacky?
