In reading the pattern, it appears to me that you just pick up a second strand of yarn to do the bind off with the two strands.

The purpose would be to give a reinforced edge.

I am wondering about this cardigan.
It seems somewhat doable, but how do you bind off with two yarns held together?
As far as I know, you haven’t been holding two pieces.
What is the purpose of this?
