Good afternoon,

I will be presenting the log cabin afghan as a pop up class on Tuesday
January 31 at 4:00 PM EST.

If you would like to participate, please email me at

Bernice.j.bird at gmail.com <mailto:Bernice.j.bird at gmail.com>

I will email you the call in phone number a few days before the class.

The skills you need are; cast on, knit, and bind off.

I will teach you how I pick up stitches to add on the next color. I kind of
learned how to do this evenly kind of by the discovery method.

You will need a small square of knitting with 10 to 15 stitches square.

You can use whatever size needles that give you the texture you like. I use
6 or 7, because I have become quite a loose knitter in my old age.

You will also need a smallish ball of yarn, and for the afghan progressively
a bit more yarn per additional colors and sections.

Of course, you will need a needle to bury ends, and scissors to cut your
yarn.

I put a safety pin on the side I want to assign as the wrong side, but in
truth, the only difference between the right and wrong side is that you bury
the ends on one side. It is pretty much reversable.

This is a great way to use up odd sizes of left over yarn. You certainly
could plan out your colors and buy new yarn instead of using your stash.
However, Many people have said one of their goals is to use up yarn in their
stash.

Have a great crafting day.

Bernice
