I'm thinking, if you take a piece of string and double it, so there is a
loop at the top, you can run both of those strings down through the body
spools, then put one of them through each leg and tie it off.  If you take
another string, feed it through your loop, then run each side through an
arm, ... then take another piece of string, double it, feed it through your
loop and up through your head bead, with possibly a smaller neck bead in
between, and tie it off, ... there you go.  You could put some yarn on the
head to hide the knot.
I think that might work.
