[NFB-Krafters-Korner] Remaking Jewelry

I have several stretchy bracelets where the rubber band has given out, but
the beads and charms are just fine.  I want to remake them in a less
breakable way.  I have magnet clasps and toggles, but either one adds some
length.  I have a bit of memory wire, but I found out that it has to have
light beads and/or wrap at least twice to hold. 

I'm thinking of combining a couple bracelets and using regular beading wire
with a magnet or toggle clasp and wrapping it twice, so the extra length
doesn't really matter.

I'd really like to hear other ideas from the jewelry makers out there.
