take a piece of thin wood or a canvas board
get some different colored crayons
on one end of the board place push pins through the board so that the
pointy ends are sticking out of the side you want the color to be on.
skewer the ends of each crayon onto the pins
make sure they are free of paper
then use a hair drier to melt the crayons and then move the board
around so that gravity takes the colors in different directions all
over the board.
i saw this done as a kids activity at a library once
