You've tried all the things I'd suggest.  Perhaps you're making some mistake on the PSSO stitches?  They can be tricky, especially with thinner yarn.  All I can say is go slow and don't let your mind wander too much. 
Good luck.  I enjoy lacy patterns, but sometimes they're a pain.

Hi there.
I am trying to make a wrap for my daughter which is very lacy.
Every second row is a lace.
I seem to be going backward more than forward as a stitch or two gets lost.
Here is what I’ve done so far.
I am using bamboo needles.
I mark the repeats with markers.
Also wondering if there are tips for taking back stitches that were SSK or sl 1, k2tog, psst??
I’ve tried lifelines. 
I seem to have enough stitches, then all of a sudden I don’t. I have no idea where they go.
