This thread seems to be all tangled up on  my computer. I'm sorry I
think I answered it twice, but I thought the first one did not go
through.  We can do a cutting session whenever it can be scheduled.  You
tell me.

> Hi, Kit.A tape measurer is definitely a good idea. I would check with Maxi Aids. you should be able to find needle threaders from Amazon. For hand sewing, self threading needles are fine available at most fabric stores. For patterns, I have somebody cut off the extra tissue paper by trimming on the cutting line. If you hold the scissors right, you can cut around the edge of each piece. It also helps to know the real shape of the pieces which is easier with the excess paper removed. Some blind people have the patterns cut out of heavy paper, but I find the tissue paper work fine and is much easier to store.

The first one I used was a quilting guide, and there are other things you can use besides the presser foot itself. But you really don't need a lot. I learned to sew the summer before sixth grade. My mother and I just figured out things that would work as needed. But there are quite a few people in this group who can answer questions as you have them. We probably don't all do things the same way either. If you believe you can find a way, that makes a lot of difference. I use a technique when cutting I would be glad to share with you when you are ready. It's the way I guide the scissors.

>> Hello! I’m working with a lady who lives by me who is teaching me to sew, but she’s not visually impaired or anything. She is suggesting that I get measuring tape, etc. Which makes sense! I actually have some of it, but not in a tactile version.
