One of the NFB Conventions, they had statues of elephants, in the middle of
the lobby, outside the conference rooms and lions outside the conference
rooms.  There might have been other animals, too.  Those are the ones I
remember.  The elephants, where huge.  You could only reach, the lower part
of the trunk, miss shorty, like me!

The school for the blind had a collection of real animals mounted and
donated to the school. It was cool to touch real animals to see how they
really feel and how big they are. Man Owls are ugly in my opinion, but the
artic fox was incredible. They also had a tiny baby black bear sitting on
his back honches with his front feet on a log. Oh so cute. Then I felt badly
for the animals. People are funny.

I have a large collection of beany babies.  I started buying them to see
what different animals looked like, too!

I may use pod catchers to find and listen to crafting podcasts. I have an
app for hobby lobby and Joannes so that I can see what is on sale. I use
zoom to take classes for crafting. I also use Pages on my iPhone to copy and
store patterns. Lana, an idea to learn proportions for forest animals is to
purchase a small bag of plastic animal figurines for children. You can then
find the animals and get a somewhat tactual idea of what they look like.
