I just finished making my sister a hat, using one of my favorite patterns,
Spruced Up, available on Ravelry with written instructions. 

It's knit with worsted, in the round.  It has a few options for the brim,
but I so far have chosen plain ribbing.  Then the main body is in
stockinette, with a panel of a pine tree.  It's a beautiful pine tree that
really stands out.

I love this hat!
