Notes from September 17, 2010 meeting





Tyler opens the meeting with introductions



Those present introduce themselves: Matt vice
president, JJ, Michael Torrez, Angie, Michael Curl, Emily Curl, Megan O’Rourke
treasurer, Christine Boone board member, Leanne secretary, Don, Dan, Hailey,
Aaron, and Kenny.



Matt announces that the state convention will be in Dearborn
on Oct. 29-31 at the double tree hotel. You may register online.



Leanne has no notes



Megan, the treasurer, announced that we have a balance of
$246 in the account.



That is the end of the reports.



Christine told us to register online to receive the cheaper
rate for registration and banquet tickets.
There will also be a limo scavenger hunt.  This is for children 12 and 
older.

Melinda will be organizing items for the scavenger hunt. The
state affiliates submitted 1 or 2 imagination grants.  1 was submitted to 
send kids to Washington. 1
was also submitted to organize new chapters in the state. There is no 
adgenda
for state convention. There was a bridge walk over Labor Day weekend. There
were 38 people and two busses that took them to Sault Ste. Marie. They took 
a
boat ride. They walked around 6-7 miles. Next year will be in Traverse City.
There are looking for volunteers and mentors.

The youth will be handing out door prizes. If any door
prizes are collected, bring them to convention and take them to the
registration.



Tyler explains that the membership dues are $5 for a year of
membership. Dues help support the chapter and also give you the benefit of
voting right.

Megan collects dues from Tyler, Leann, Matt, JJ, Michael
Curl, Emily Curl, Ken, Christine and for herself. She collects $40 in dues.



Office voting starts. Matt opens the nominations for
president. Tyler is nominated and he accepts the nomination.  The nomination 
is seconded. There are no
other nominations for president. The vote is unanimous in agreeing that 
Tyler
is voted into the role of president.

Tyler opens the nominations for vice president. Ken
nominates himself. Matt is nominated and accepts the nomination. Megan is
nominated and also accepts the nomination. Each candidate gives a 30 second
speech explaining how they would impove the organization. Megan is voted 
into
the position of vice president.  Tyler
opens up nominations for secretary. Leann is nominated, but declines the
nomination. Emily is nominated and accepts the position. Emily is voted into
the position of secretary.  Tyler opens
the nominations for treasurer. JJ is nominated, but declines.  Matt is 
nominated and accepts the
nomination.  Matt is voted into the
position of treasurer.  Tyler opens up
nominations for boardmembers. Mike Curl, Ken, and Christine are nominated 
and
all accept.  Mike Curl, Ken, and
Christine are voted into positions of board members.

Nominations are moved to close and the motion is seconded.
Voting concluded.



JJ mentions the state convention will hold a raffle with
tickets for sale.  Our chapter needs to
create a prize to donate to the convention. We will receive money for the
tickets received at the convention. Tyler suggested donating trinkets from
China.  Email ideas to JJ.



Christine mentions sponsoring children for the bridgewalk
weekend.

She was asking for door prize donations.

Christine updated us on news regarding her arbitraition and
changes to the center.The meeting is officially concluded.
