Good afternoon everyone,
While I'm not a lion Mary's involvement has peaked my interest and
motivated me to ask a few questions. Firstly I believe at one time there was
the Lions Club which was made up primarily of men. Then the Lioness Clubs
came along in about the 1980s that consisted of women if memory serves me
right. What happened to the Lioness Clubs?Did they dissolve or did the Lions
and Lioness Clubs merge to become the Lions Club?
I know there are a number of members and other blind persons I know
involved in Lions, but are you aware of any blind youth involved in the Leo
Club? I'm assuming that the Leo Club has the same relationship as does
the Key Club to the Kiwanis Club. I used to be a Key Club member during my
high school years so know what these organizations do. There have been a
number of blind youth involved in Key Clubs. What's the situation with
their involvement in Leo Clubs?

Subject: [Nfb-lions] National Convention
Dear Ramona,
Good afternoon from one of your friendly neighbors. I just wanted to touch
base with you regarding the upcomiong meeting at national convention in
Detroit. I am of course still here in Salt Lake City,UT. My club (Salt Lake
City Lions Club) and I have been very busy preparing for our annual golf
tournament coming up on June 17th. They are even going to let me tear loose
and drive a cart. Wooo hooo. I am still working and going to school. I am
getting excited for convention. My club has even sponsored me for the March
for Independence.
As Mary indicated, I am hearing that both NABOP and the Lions Divisions are
meeting at the same time. I am on the board of NABOP but would love to get
to know people and get more involved in this division as well. Hope all is
well with everyone and I look forward to seeing everyone in less than 45
days!
Best Regards,
Kevin Ledford
