That is how it went for me. got right into the thick of it and did a
speaking engagement before 6000 people and helped raise 29k  to boot. they
let me speak about blindness as a characteristic  and from a place of
empowerment. Was so cool.

This is exactly what I needed to know.  I'm fine with educating and 
explaining and that sort of thing, but having to do that constantly in a 
context where I'd hope to focus on other things makes for frustration.   I'd

like to be able to get past the initial awkwardness quickly, fit in and 
begin working on whatever it is that the local club is working on.
