Hello Lions and Friends,
Ramona has tried to set me straight and told me that as a district officer
in my 28T district and being a member of the NFB that I needed to sign up
on NFB-lions. So here I am.
1979 was the year I first joined Lions International and for except one
year I have been a member now for 33 years. My first club was the Salt
Lake club in Salt Lake City, Utah. It was chartered in 1921. I was
president of that club 1995-1996. After retiring in 2006 I moved and
continued in my lions service in the Pleasant Grove Lions. Was president
of this club from Oct. 2008 until July 2010.
Recently I have worked as a Zone Chair and was just elected in November as 2
nd Vice District Governor. I was honored to be elected. This is not a
position that I sought out. Leadership came to me. I look forward to
working with Lions not only in my district which covers the southern half
of the state of Utah but all Lions in the multi-district that covers the
whole state. One of the responsibilities of my position is to be a member
of the board of trustees for the Utah Lions Foundation. With the
certificate of achievement award from the International President which I
was surprised to get and grateful for I am looking forward to making a
difference and representing the principals of the NFB as well.
There are ways that the NFB and Lions can be a blessing to each other.
So now you know a little about me. Just so you know just because I have
held leadership positions in Lions as described above doesn’t make me any
better of a person than any member on this list. We all have the privilege
of sharing and learning from each other.
Hoping to get to know you all better and may the Christmas season be a
joyous time for each of us. It is the only federal holiday now between the
present and the New Year.
Take care my fellow Lions and NFB friends,
Milt Taylor
