TIME SENSITIVE!! URGENT!
Friends and Colleagues,
My Blind Spot wants to introduce you to one of our newest friends and fellow accessibility advocates, Dr. Brian Wentz, an Associate Professor of Management Information Systems at Shippensburg University. Along with his colleague, Dr. June Pham, an Associate Professor of Finance, and Kailee Tressler, an undergraduate student at the University, they will be conducting a web-based survey focusing on users who are blind to learn more about the impact that accessible or inaccessible banking and financial websites and digital offerings have on work and day to day activities for the community. The goal of this research is to compile data regarding the experiences and barriers that blind users encounter, related to banking and financial websites and digital accessibility and usability.
They need the assistance of blind individuals, 18 years of age or older, who are dependent on screen readers to navigate digital offerings, who are also users of banking and/or financial websites and/or apps to participate in there survey.
Qualified participants are expected to complete a web-based survey that will take approximately 15 to 25 minutes to finish. Participation in this study is voluntary, and you are at liberty to withdraw your consent and discontinue participation at any time without prejudice. Personal information or accounts will not be used at any time. You will be entered in a drawing to win one of 4 $50 gift cards. The drawing will take place in February 2016, and the winners will be notified via email.
All information will remain strictly confidential, and once it is coded, the original information will be stored in a locked location in Dr. Wentz's office at Shippensburg University.
The following links will take you to the web-based survey (one is a shorter URL in case you have any difficulty with the longer URL from Survey Gizmo): http://goo.gl/T80eOS or http://www.surveygizmo.com/s3/2399646/Accessibility-of-Banking-and-Finance-Websites-and-Apps
If you experience any glitches or complications with the survey, please notify Dr. Wentz. My Blind Spot thanks you, in advance, for lending your support to this study being conducted at Shippensburg University.
