To All Lions:
you are being invited to join this meeting by the Group Coordinator Lion
Milton Ota. We meet fairly regularly on the 4th Saturday of the month
beginning at 4 PM Central Time, which is 5 PM Eastern Time.
We gather to catch up with Lions Activities and stay in touch during the
pandemic.
We discuss/share whatever you have on your mind.
On our next meeting we will have some guest joining us. See the information
below.
GUEST SPEAKER
Thanks you for accepting our invitation to speak at your NFB Lions Club
meeting.
Here is a little about us:
The Out of Sight Dragon Boat Team is the premier dragon boat team of the
blind and visually impaired in the Mid-Atlantic area.
Started in 2010, we have competed in local dragon boat festivals and
regattas with non-disable teams.
Enjoying Lions Club support since inception, the team participated in the
first ever Para-dragon division for racers with disabilities at the 2021
Club Crew National Championships in Sarasota, FL. And we are returning to
compete in the World Championships this July 2022.
Dragon boat racing is one of the fastest growing sports in the world. Our
team is a wonderful opportunity for blind or people with visual impairment
to participate in a team sport on the Potomac. For a Lions Club, we have
various volunteer and sponsorship opportunities with the team.
The Out of Sight Dragon Boat Team is supported by Lions Clubs in DC, MD and
VA.
