NATIONAL FEDERATION OF THE BLIND New Orleans, Louisiana July 5 - 10, 2022 We are excited to be serving as the host affiliate of the 2022 convention in the city of New Orleans. Thousands of blind people will be attending the convention from Tuesday, July 5th to Sunday, July 10th. You can visit www.nfb.org to pre-register for the convention beginning March 1st to May 31st, or you may register on-site starting July 6th. (Pre-registration rates are discounted.) In addition to well-known featured speakers and an enormous exhibit hall filled with technology, literature, and services. There will be numerous special interest meetings, including... seminars for parents and teachers of blind children... meetings for blind high school and college students... professional development opportunities for individuals working in the field of blindness… activities and learning opportunities for blind youth… workshops for those interested in computers and technology... meetings for various professionals… and much more! Social activities will be scheduled throughout the week as well. This year’s convention will be held at the New Orleans Marriott at 555 Canal Street. Room rates are $109 (singles and doubles) and $119 (triples and quads) a night, plus city, state, and occupancy tax (which presently totals 16.2%). A deposit of the first night’s room rate is required to make a reservation with a credit card or personal check. The deposit will be charged against your card immediately. Fifty percent of the deposit will be refunded if notice is given to the hotel of a reservation cancellation before May 31, 2022. The other 50% is not refundable. For reservations, please call the New Orleans Marriott at 800-654-3990. Get your reservations early; space is limited. The overflow hotel, which is also where the exhibit hall will be located, is the Sheraton at 500 Canal Street (855-516-1090). The 2022 Convention of the National Federation of the Blind will be a truly memorable event as we celebrate how the organization has helped blind people live the lives they want. There is a $100 nonrefundable fee required to ride the bus. Space is limited. For those riding the bus, hotel reservations must be made to check in on July 4th and check out on July 11th.
