Hi Everyone,
Please see a note below from Danielle Earl, our NFB BELL Coordinator for
Salisbury. I hope you can help out. I'll be heading to Salisbury in a
couple of weeks, so if people have money they want to give me for raffles or
to help with baskets, feel free to bring them to the BELL Concert Sunday.
BELL News! For anyone who doesn't know BELL stands for Braille Enrichment
for Literacy and Learning. This is a two-week program for blind children
ranging in age from 4 to 12 years old. This is SALISBURY BISM's fourth year
hosting this program with the NFB. We are holding a raffle to raise funds to
help offset the cost of this program. We will be raffling off money as the
prize which will be $100, $50, and $25. Tickets cost $2 for one ticket and
$5 for three tickets. The drawing for this raffle will be on June 28th and
you don't need to be present. I am also asking for donations of baskets or
tote bags for this year's program. The children will be making fruit baskets
to give to blind seniors as a community helping project. You can PM (those
on Facebook) me, email me at dearl at bism.org <mailto:dearl at bism.org> to
purchase raffle tickets or to donate baskets or tote bags. This is one
program that I can't wait to do every year. I love working with our blind
young youth teaching them that it is okay to be blind and that you can live
the life you want.
Thanks, & Have a Wonderful Day!
Danielle

The National Federation of the Blind of Maryland knows that blindness is not
the characteristic that defines you or your future. Every day we raise the
expectations of blind people, because low expectations create obstacles
between blind people and our dreams. You can live the life you want;
blindness is not what holds you back.
