Assistant Director for our Library.
The Maryland State Library Agency is recruiting for the position of
Assistant Director (Program Manager Senior I) for the Maryland State LBPH.
>From the position posting:
"This is a professional position responsible for assisting the Director in
the planning, organization, supervision, development and administration of
all library services, personnel, operation and programs. The Assistant
Director is responsible for the management of the Maryland State Library for
the Blind and Physically Handicapped (LBPH) in the absence of the Director.
Assists with the development and implementation of regulations, policies,
procedures and guidelines for LBPH. Provides leadership in the development
and implementation of educational support activities (pre-K through 18 and
lifelong learning) for individuals who are blind, low vision or print
disabled. Manages the Patron Services, Reference, Technical Services,
Collection Development (including the Recording Studio), Youth Services and
Assistive Technology Departments."

and print disabled people. The MD LBPH has a creative staff looking at
innovative ways of engaging people in lifelong learning and community
engagement. There are a lot of exciting changes happening starting with the
announcement on October 1 of John Owen as the new Director of the MD LBPH.
