All,

This message contains information about how to get into meetings and
sessions during the NFB National Convention. This message is for those with
the Zoom mobile app, Zoom desktop client, cell phones, and standard phones.

Standard Phone:

John Berggren, Chair of Convention Arrangements (and overall hero of the
Convention) has shared some information with the NFB lists about how to
access the NFB National Convention from a standard phone (not the Zoom app
or desktop client).

He shares that a participant can call one of seven phone numbers from
anywhere in the United States. The one we like in Maryland is a local
Germantown number. It is 301-715-8592. We came up with a memory aid for
this number a few weeks ago.

1. Think about calling Debbie Brown and use her area code of 301.

2. Think about calling Sharon Maneki (and we all have Sharon's number
memorized) and call the prefix for Sharon of 715.

3. Think about Barry Hond's age of 82 (next month) and sandwich his
age around the numbers 59 (which isn't anyone's age that anyone would
admit). And the last four numbers are 8592.

4. This is the same number to use for the NFBMD Wednesday night COVID
calls and the seminars we've been having (and most chapter meetings).

5. 301-715-8592.

But in case people want the other numbers to directly call Zoom, here they
are.

+1 301 715 8592 US (Germantown)

+1 408 638 0968 US (San Jose)

+1 669 900 6833 US (San Jose)

+1 253 215 8782 US (Tacoma)

+1 346 248 7799 US (Houston)

+1 312 626 6799 US (Chicago)

+1 646 876 9923 US (New York)

Remember, when dialing in, you'll need to have the Zoom meeting ID handy.
Enter that using the keypad followed by the pound or number key.

If you lose this email, you can also get to the phone numbers from a link on
our convention information webpage at www.nfb.org/convention
<http://www.nfb.org/convention%3chttp:/www.nfb.org/convention>
<http://www.nfb.org/convention> in the How to Participate section. You'll
also find international numbers if dialing in from elsewhere around the
globe.

One Tap Dialing

Now there are a couple of ways to dial in much faster and have the phone
automatically put in the access codes for meetings. I recommend that people
create a contact card (for smart phones) or a favorite for land line users.
Then in that contact card or favorite, put in the Zoom phone number -
301-715-8592 - and then two commas, and then the 11 digit access code
followed by the pound sign. This is called a One Tap phone number. The
commas give the system a second to paus while the phone is answered. Don't
forget the pound sign at the end - it is really important.

All General Sessions and the Banquet have the same 11-digit access code. It
is 933 6983 0741. There are no spaces when entering the code into a phone
contact card or favorite - we just put the spaces in here for ease of
reading.

So the One Tap Number becomes:

13017158592,,93369830741#

Attached is a list of all of the One Tap numbers for the convention.

Zoom Apps and Desktop Clients

For those of you using the html version of the agenda who have a Zoom client
on your computer or smart phone, you can simply click (or hit enter or
double tap) on the 11 digit access code and your Zoom client will
automatically launch the meeting.

For those of you using the CrowdCompass version of the agenda, you can just
click on (or hit enter or double tap) on the event access button and Zoom
will automatically launch the meeting on your device.

If you prefer, you can open the Zoom app or client, click (or hit enter or
double tap) "Join" from the main page, and manually enter the 11 digit
access code for a particular meeting.

Zoom Commands Regardless of Access Method

Attached is a list of Zoom shortcuts and keyboard commands for all devices,
including standard phones.

Let us know if you have questions or need help getting into meetings. The
2020 NFB Convention is going to be amazing!

Ronza

the characteristic that defines you or your future. Every day we raise the
expectations of blind people, because low expectations create obstacles
between blind people and our dreams. You can live the life you want;
blindness is not what holds you back.
