We are only about 10 days away, and</span><br><span>this promises to be one of the most exciting conventions so far.</span><br><span></span><br><span>I wanted to share some information with you all as we prepare for National</span><br><span>Convention. Most of you are either attending the NFB National Convention</span><br><span>for the first time or for the first time as a Marylander. Those of you</span><br><span>who have attended before may just want a bit of a refresher.</span><br><span></span><br><span>We will be holding a conference call this Thursday, June 27, 2019,</span><br><span>starting at 8:00PM to go over some Convention information. The conference</span><br><span>call number is 1-605-313-4818. The access code number is 720125#. Please</span><br><span>do try to call in. Feel free to share this note and the call in</span><br><span>information with others who might be interested in this call.</span><br><span></span><br><span>Judy Rasmussen is chairing our NFB of Maryland Ambassadors Committee. She</span><br><span>is working hard on matching each of you with a mentor for the week - or</span><br><span>perhaps a couple of mentors. We hope to have that information to you</span><br><span>soon. </span><br><span></span><br><span>I've included as attachments to this email a couple of documents I think</span><br><span>you might find helpful. The first is the National Convention agenda in</span><br><span>Microsoft Word. You can also find this in a lot of other formats,</span><br><span>including mp3, for Braille, and html at <a href="http://nfb.org">nfb.org</a>. </span><br><span></span><br><span>I've also attached a document called "NFBMD Convention First Time Guide.</span><br><span>This has a lot of information including mandatory meetings and activities</span><br><span>for those receiving financial assistance, where our Caucus (Maryland</span><br><span>meeting) will be, what to wear, what to expect, and how to get help if</span><br><span>needed. </span><br><span></span><br><span>Finally, I'm attaching the National Center First Time Convention Guide.</span><br><span>This was written by the NFB National Office and has more general</span><br><span>information for firsgt-time conventioneers or those needing a refresher.</span><br><span></span><br><span>Please remember to come to our Maryland Caucus on Monday, July 8, 2019 at</span><br><span>9:00PM in Tradewinds E.</span><br><span></span><br><span>Please also make sure Judy and I have a good phone number to reach you at</span><br><span>during Convention. I am a member of the National Federation of the</span><br><span>Blind of Maryland. I understand you are planning to attend the convention</span><br><span>in Las Vegas, and that this will be your first time . Let me say first of</span><br><span>all, that it is a wonderful experience, and one you will never forget.</span><br><span></span><br><span>The hotel is big, there are many activities happening at the same time,</span><br><span>and you will probably feel overwhelmed in the beginning.
