[NFB-Mastodon] Affiliate Mastodon accounts?

Please consider not establishing a division account, even for a committee, without discussing it with the division president first. Use your personal name, and if you like put information about your NFB involvement in your profile. The idea is to get division an affiliate accounts set up on nfb.social. The procedure is to request help setting up such an account by emailing mastodon at nfb.org. Things will go mot smoothly if the request comes from the division president.

Dave,

So, if  one cannot do a personal account with NFB.social and I am a chairperson of a committee of a NFB Division. Can I set up a Mastodon account using that division name and not my personal name?   Or use both last name, position title  and division name.

When you say you signed up with a request.  With whom?  You just sign up with the instance you want to use.  If you tried for NFB.social, they are not accepting personal accounts on that instance.

Hi everyone,
I had submitted a request to get signed up with a Mastodon account for our affiliate but I don't think I've heard back on how or when that will happen. I have figured out how to set up a personal account and it seems pretty straightforward But just wondering if there was an update for affiliates and divisions?
