Thanks I guess my friends current visuall acuity is considered low vision even though he is blind in the dark. I'm encouraging him to use NVDA and Talkback on the pc and tablet. I want to also be sensitive to the cultural bias because I have seen how supposed friends can turn on someone deemed to be unacceptable. My friend doesn't deserve to be ostracized. Going blind isn't something he chose to do.

Salaams,
I do know that JAWS has Arabic language in their Braille table. If someone knows if the screen reader will do Arabic language output that may help this individual.
Freedom scientific did a webinar in October about Braille and Arabic was mentioned.
Insha'Allah you will find this info helpful.

And your stigmatized and your family is frowned upon because they take their disabled child or family out in public places. It is quite prehistoric the disability laws over there. If you do travel out, it is with your family member that takes you. My friend lived in Cairo for a year. She was completely blind and did not travel anywhere by herself, only with the family who did not allow her to take her cane, she did side to guide or their version of it. And it is considered rude to ask the family about the disability that a member has. So most likely, the differently abled person will only talk with the family members while out in public. Others may have a better different experience. Also, my friend is female perhaps, a male may have a different experience.
