NFB Muslims,

During our conversation on Zoom on Saturday, 3 December, I was asked about
pricing for producing braille transcriptions. My answer was very general.

I am including below a link to the price list I maintain for ad-hoc
transcription work. The link goes to an accessible Google Doc that you can
read with a screen reader.

The prices on this list are already much lower than charged by other
transcribers, because I use donations to pay part of the production costs.
However, larger projects will be priced at a lower per-page rate than shown
on this list. Also, because I run the company and I don't have to make a
living doing braille transcription, I often do small jobs pro-bono (free)
or at an even lower price from that shown on this price list. This lets
customers get to know me and learn of the speed and reliability of my work,
so they are more willing to consider contracting with me again in the
future.

And this also helps me meet my goals. I want to have more braille out there
to help improve access to information so people can better pursue
their goals. That is more important to me than making money.
