[NFB-Muslims] convention house keeping for sunday june 25 meeting

Asalamu alaykum wa Rahmatullah,
Inshallah, some more convention house keeping!
1 did everyone fill out the form that was sent out of facebook and the 
list surve and what's up?
2 are we going to have halal boxes sent to the hotel? Are we going to 
order as a group with our individual meals. The delivery fee is only 15 
dollars if we order as a group. We need to decide who is going to put on 
their account and everyone has to pay inshallah for their own meals. If 
we put 1 dollar on our meals, we should get the 15 delivery charge 
inshallah.  The most accessible payment method I have used is zelle to 
transfor the payments. Does everyone know how to use zelle?  I am not 
sure but if you have a bank of America account, it is free and most 
other banks too. Does anyone have any other ideas on how we can order as 
a group that might be simpler. Not not everyone has a smart phone in the 
group. Are we ordering the whole convention? or just 1 or 2 days?
3 Was everyone who wanted to ride to the hotel get pared if possible. 
Some are flying in to hobbie and others George bush? Hobbiie is 9 miles 
and george bush is 30 miles away from the hotel!
4 Are we creating a number exchange for those attending the convention 
so we can all be on the same page?
5 Do we want to sit together at banquet or with our state affiliates? We 
have to exchange tickets if so and we need to tell them asap that we 
want halal meals?
6 How many are needing transportation to the dinner on the fifth? Does 
anyone have any dietary needs, low sodium for example, diabetic, low sugar.
7 Please bring your own prayer matts, I do not think we have any to 
offer. I will update everyone if there is a place to make wudu before 
salaat. I do not know which masjid everyone wants to follow but, if you 
have say athan utility, you can follow those prayer times for Houston. I 
know they have different schools of thought when it comes to praying 
while traveling. So i did not know if we want to have jumat salaat.
8 Some have not traveled much. I did not know if everyone knew about the 
new policy for hous keeping at the hilton. You have to ask for house 
keeping for everyday or as often as you need it. Covid-19 has changed 
how house keeping is being done. So you have to call in advance or tell 
the front desk so they can note it. Also if you have more than one 
person in the room, you have to ask for towels for each; do not assume 
they will give them to you.
  I suggest if you can, if you want coffee or tea, you tell them which 
you want so you do not get all of them and trying to tell which is which 
can be time consuming. They put all the items in the same packaging so 
you do not know which is the tea bag and which is the coffee and what 
type. Also it is usually a fancy print that does not scan well. Same 
goes for sugar and creamer and any other items you need. The hotels are 
not putting a lot in the room these days anymore. You may only have 1 
box of tissues in the bathroom. So if you need more tell them. If you 
have hilton honors, you can check in on the app and you can request 
early check in times but, they charge for late check out unless your 
diamond members. If you have hilton honors you get free  internet in the 
room  and diamond  members get the expanded plan. Just telling what I 
read off their site. There is no internet outside of the room. You have 
to use your data plans off your phones or tablits inshallah.
Some of us will arrive Friday, Jumah,during  the blessed days of 
Dhil-Hijja. I wanted to know if we want to go to a masjid for a program 
or do takbarat at the hotel together inshallah. I know we might all be 
tired from traveling inshallah.
Finally, welcome to Texas and the wonderful power grid where we lose 
power because of dust, yes dust. So I called the hilton America's they 
do have a back up generator if we lose power. Parts of Texas are still 
without power north Texas, east Texas and parts of houston. They were 
still working on it today. So I called the hotel to check on back up  
power. So glad we will have backup power if we need it.
So health concerns, if you are not used to the heat I would advise you 
bring a battery operated fan if you plan going outside to say the park 
that is across from the hotel off Dallas street. We have extreme heat, 
indexs over 120. That is not a typo! We got lucky today, it is only at 
100 in the houston area heat index. But, the high pressure is moving in 
next week in time for the convention and  those heat  indexes will climb 
again! Inshallah may allah grant everyone  safe and productive travels 
to the convention. Please remember it is still Dhul Hijjah  and keep 
making duwah as you travel to the convention. If I forgot something, 
please let me know at the meeting inshallah.
