If not, I will look forward to meeting you in Houston. If you have questions before the convention, I will try to answer them. However, my schedule is pretty busy until the convention kicks off. So, attending the pre-convention meeting will allow me to answer questions before the convention. On the evening of June 27, I will conduct a pre-convention meeting to provide you with information you might need before you get to the convention. The meeting will be virtual, and everyone is invited. If you know people planning to register in person, be sure to let them know about both these meetings. They are welcome to attend either or both. The meeting on June 27 will take place at 7:00 PM, and the Zoom link can be found at the end of this message.

Finally, let me offer everyone the opportunity to volunteer to help with the convention. Many of our opportunities have been filled, but we always need volunteers to serve as talking signs, and there may be opportunities in the Independence Market. Let me tell you a little about these opportunities in case you want to help.

Ambassadors (talking signs): During our conventions, we enlist the help of volunteers to help with wayfinding by serving as talking signs. Volunteers stand at an assigned location and direct people to meetings by saying something like, "Board Meeting this way." This is an example. The volunteers should be told which meeting they are directing people to. Jeanine Lineback is coordinating ambassadors for our Texas affiliate, and anyone is welcome to send Jeanine a note letting her know you want to help. Ambassadors might also be asked to help people who have difficulty navigating the hotel by offering directions or other navigational assistance. Let Jeanine know how you can help. You don't have to have the best travel skills to serve as a talking sign. A strong voice, a willingness to help, and some free time to work a shift is what we are looking for. Membership is not required either. To serve in this capacity, contact Jeanine at jlineback@nfbtx.org.

Independence Market: The Independence Market is our organization's store. We bring most of our products to the convention, and they are for sale. Most volunteers who help out in the Independence Market work as product demonstrators. That is to say, they sit at a table with several products and let customers know what they have to show them. The demonstrator does not handle money or credit cards. Nor do they provide them with the product. They allow customers to examine their products, and if the customer wishes to purchase something, the demonstrator provides them with a ticket and directs them to the cashier so they can pay and be given their product. Shifts are generally at least two hours in length, but it is possible to work a longer shift. If you are interested in helping out as a demonstrator, please contact me directly so I can share your contact information with our market coordinator.

To volunteer to serve as an ambassador or a product demonstrator, share your name, email address, and cell number with either Jeanine or me. Once that happens, you will be assigned a shift if opportunities are left.

Here is the Zoom link for the meeting on June 27.

Join Zoom Meeting

https://us02web.zoom.us/j/2819687733?pwd=NlpuSE5aWTdGNVlsUzlTaFNkMk4vUT09

One tap mobile

+13462487799,,2819687733# US (Houston)

If dialing from a landline call 346-248-7799 and use the following:

Meeting ID: 281 968 7733

Passcode: 1600

I hope to see all of you and the meetings discussed here.
