[Nfb-new-hampshire] bowling guide for fun Spot

I do not bowl myself, but a number of blind and otherwise disabled people do, and would like to use Fun Spot. They need to use a bowling rail or shooter, but Fun Spot only has an improvised one made from a PVC pipe, which is very difficult to use.

I tried bowling once with the Lions Blind Bowlers in northern Maine about 5 years ago and saw a contraption which seemed to work. Is this owned by the Lions or the bowling alley in...Rumford?

Since clients of Easter Seals, and other blind persons, do use Fun Spot, could some agency help them get a proper rail? Fun Spot says one is available from their supplier (I lost the name) for $600, and they are not prepared to pay that amount.

Does anyone know of a better source? If not, can anyone suggest where some funds could be raised to provide one for Fun Spot? Is this something the NH Lions Sight and Hearing Foundation could help with? How about near-by Lions Clubs? Other agencies or charities? Perhaps the Lakes Region NFB could chip in a bit, but we could not cover the whole cost.

Thanks, Ed Meskys
PS--after dithering, I will not be attending Vision 2010.

Ed Meskys.
