Subject: GACIT hearings on NH DOT Ten Year Plan

Good morning,

Please see attached and below in regard to public hearings on Transportation in NH. You may recall that 2 years ago NH citizens were instrumental in using these hearings to get cuts to transportation for people with disabilities and the elderly reinstated into the plan.

William A. Finn, Administrator

Office of Services for Blind and Visually Impaired

NH Department of Education

To all interested parties:

Public Hearings are being held by the Governor's Advisory Commission on Intermodal Transportation

September 9th through October 21st

soliciting input on the NH Dept. of Transportation 2015-2024 Ten Year Transportation Improvement Plan.

The State Coordinating Council on Community Transportation, created by legislation to foster the coordination of transportation services to get people where they need to go, would like to broaden the conversation on transportation in the state to include the needs of people who don't drive.

Transport NH is a network of organizations and individuals working to create a balanced transportation system that meets more of the needs of New Hampshire residents.

To help the SCC broaden the conversation, and to help people advocate for the needs of their communities, Transport NH offers the attached talking points, which can be used to supplement personal stories of the vital role community transportation plays in your area.

I've also attached the schedule of GACIT hearings so that you can find one near you.

For more information on the process and to download the Ten Year Plan, see

http://www.nh.gov/dot/org/projectdevelopment/planning/typ/

Hope to see you at the hearings.
