My name is Kaity Ellis, President of the New Mexico Association of Blind Students (NAMBS).

I am very sorry I have not been in contact with you wonderful students. That will change.

Let me tell you about myself. I just recently graduated with my bachelor’s degree in social work, and will be going for my Master’s this fall.  I joined the NFB in 2013. I love being a part of such an amazing organization. A fun fact to know about me. I have been in student government since 2nd grade, and just recently retired from it as a senior in college . I love helping people fight for  their rights, in other words I love politics. I one day hope to become a U.S. senator. That’s enough about me. I would like to give some information to you  all about the Association. 

 

First, we have  an official Facebook page https://m.facebook.com/NMABS1/  Please go like our page and share with your friends. That way you can be in the  know about everything going on in the Association. 

Second, we have meetings  via conference call every 2nd Sunday of the month. You are more then welcome to attend. In fact, I will be sad if you don’t. 

Third, It’s my goal, along with my amazing board members, to give you wonderful experiences here in the  association. Please feel free to contact me with in anything. My contact information is at the bottom of this email. 

I am excited to be your president. I look forward to working side by side with Adelmo Vigil, President of the New Mexico Affiliate of the National Federation of the Blind. By all of us working together, we will successfully move the Federation forward.
