Academic Support Administrator
The New Mexico School for the Blind and Visually Impaired is seeking an
Academic Support Administrator for its residential campus. This individual
will facilitate educational programming through the IEP process for students
attending the residential campus or those served by NMSBVI staff in local
area schools. Assists instructional administration with district testing,
local and state level, while maintaining student's scores on district
software, spreadsheets and reporting to the PED. Serves as expert in
Special Education Law and state and federal requirements. The successful
candidate must have experience in the area of special education and varied
classroom experience with multi-ages and ability levels. Experience with IEP
and curriculum development is required. Administrative licensure and a
minimum of five years of administrative experience is required. Must be
willing to acquire Teacher of the Visually Impaired certification (or the
equivalent) and will be required to become Braille proficient. Applications
accepted until filled.
