[NFB-NM] Fwd: Update and Notes Regarding Resolutions at the 2025 Convention of the National Federation of the Blind of New Mexico (NFBNM)

Hello everyone,
Kelly Burma writes the following:
Dear Members of the National Federation of the Blind of New Mexico (NFBNM),

I hope this message continues to find you well throughout the fall season.
As we prepare for the 2025 convention of the National Federation of the
Blind of New Mexico (NFBNM), it is my pleasure to provide notes regarding
resolutions to be heard in committee and at the convention. Resolutions
which are passed by a majority vote in the affirmative on the convention
floor become the policy statements of our state affiliate and recorded at
the national headquarters. This is important to note as part of our work in
the blind people's movement to collectively overcome our challenges and
explore opportunities in the times in which we live.

As part of the work to seek solutions to challenges and overcome
opportunities, it has been my pleasure to work with President Chavez and to
present to the At Large and West Mesa chapters regarding the work of
contemplating and creating resolutions. As we look forward to our continued
work leading up to and at the convention, I have a few notes for you.

Resolutions to be considered by the Resolutions committee are due to me by
8:00 PM on Tuesday, October 21, 2025. Please send them to
kburma6414 at gmail.com. If you have any questions about your resolution idea
or would like assistance with creating your resolution. I am happy to talk
with you by appointment in the evenings or early mornings in the coming

The Resolutions committee will deliberate submitted resolutions at its
meeting on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at 8:00 AM. Resolutions which move
out of the committee with a "do pass" recommendation will be heard on the
convention floor during the business meeting on the morning of Sunday,
October 26, 2025.
