I am part of a team working on the grant-funded project called Access
Ratings for Buildings (ARB), a collaborative initiative led by the
University of New Mexico, University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, and Columbia
University. The ARB Project aims to expand the availability of
accessibility information for public spaces. Through this project, we have
developed AccessPlace, a new online platform designed to help people with
disabilities find and share information about the accessibility of local
restaurants through community-generated ratings and reviews.
We are looking for community members to participate in the AccessPlace
Launch Event on Saturday, June 27, 2026, from 10:30 AM - 2:30 PM
(participants do not need to stay the entire time to participate).
Participants will receive hands-on training using AccessPlace, rate local
restaurants near the UNM campus using AccessPlace, and provide feedback to
help improve the platform. Your input will help create a valuable community
resource that supports informed dining decisions and promotes accessibility
awareness.
Participants will also receive a gift card to use at one of the
participating restaurants.
