[NFB-of-Delaware] Spam Email Alert!

Hi All,

During our national convention I fell for a scam from a phishing email address posing as Sylvia. This email asked me to buy multiple gift cards which, according to the email, were meant as gifts to hardworking NFBDE members. The scammer and I had a lengthy email exchange, most of which seemed very plausible in the circumstances, and I ended up spending $300 on iTunes gift cards until I called the real Sylvia, who didn't know what I was talking about. Fortunately, I have now been refunded. But today I received another spam email claiming to be from Carol and asking me to help her with a PayPal payment for administrative expenses. Given her expenses, this might have made sense. Fortunately I checked the email address so I know it wasn't actually her. So, if you receive an email from anyone, even if it makes sense, please check the address it comes from. If anything looks suspicious, please don't reply or click on any links.
