On behalf of the U.S. Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights and Office of Planning, Evaluation and Policy Development, you are invited to “Civil Rights and Mental Health: Empowering Students for Success” on Tuesday, September 24, 2024, from 2:00 – 5:00 pm ET at the U.S. Department of Education. This event will focus on the experiences of students living with mental health conditions and feature personal stories from young leaders, promising practices from educators, experts, and policy makers, and remarks by senior Biden-Harris Administration officials. The program will also include an announcement of new resources on the topic of student mental health to ensure that every student has access to a supportive learning environment free from discrimination. Census Bureau to Livestream Meeting
with Stakeholders on Disability Data Needs

The U.S. Census Bureau will livestream its  <https://whitehouse.us1.list-manage.com/track/click?u=b999ee4d97253671de1a2d1fa&id=587420f4bb&e=7ae6290504> upcoming meeting with disability community stakeholders Sept. 30 from 10:45 a.m. - 5 p.m. ET in the DC metro area. The event livestream will be available on  <https://whitehouse.us1.list-manage.com/track/click?u=b999ee4d97253671de1a2d1fa&id=b4c4317a04&e=7ae6290504> Census Live for public viewing. 

The purpose of the meeting is to better understand challenges in data availability and access for the disability community based on feedback in response to a  <https://whitehouse.us1.list-manage.com/track/click?u=b999ee4d97253671de1a2d1fa&id=cf1acfc195&e=7ae6290504> Federal Register notice outlining proposed changes to the American Community Survey.

The Census Bureau is hosting the meeting with the Office of Management and Budget, the National Center for Health Statistics, the National Council on Disability, The Leadership Conference Education Fund, and the Consortium for Constituents with Disabilities’ Health Task Force. The meeting will bring together federal agencies, data users, disability advocates, community representatives, and stakeholders.
