Hi, all.
The site http://www.oregonlive.com/policescanner has a live feed of a scanner covering police and fire and EMS entities in the Portland metro area. It's a Real Audio feed embedded in the web page. Unfortunately, there's a constantly-updating ad frame that goes along with this and something that's been done to the form confuses the heck out of I E 8 with a screen-reader. And the current free version of RealOne isn't as screen-reader-friendly as were previous versions; I had a paid version but a computer crash ate it and I'm not particularly interested in buying the thing again.
Previously, I had managed to get the actual URL of the feed (bear audio, no ads) by causing RealOne to emit an error message by yanking the LAN conection. By putting this directly into RealOne, I got the feed. Trouble is, I've lost that direct URl; I neglected to save my Real Audio favorites prior to the crash.
I've tried to write to OregonLive asking for a direct URL as the updating page doesn't do much for thems of us with a screen-reader. Except that to send feedback requires filling in a CAPTCHA! And there's no audio! I left a message on OregonLive's phone but no one has returned my call.
Anyone got an "in" with OregonLive.Com or have the direct link to the Real Audio feed of the scanner? I'd like to listen to it with RealAlternative (a Real Audio Player from the UK).
T I A and Happy Holidays!
Mike Freeman
