[Nfb-or] OCB

Mike,

This is true. However, the way the board is structured and the way it
relates to the agency gives them little ability to intervene in problems
within the agency. They deal only with Linda Mock, the agency director.
She tells them, as far as I can tell, what they want to here, and that's
that. She shows no interest in actually directing the agency, so problems
have propagated and become endemic.

The Board is five members strong (as I recall -- I notice they are no longer
listed on the agency's website), so the NFB and ACB reps do not a majority
make.

The Board of Directors (Commissioners) has a NFB of Oregon and a Oregon
Council of the Blind rep.

Jeff,

I think that is some great insight. The commission for the blind is
for us, so we should have a say in how it's run and how we're served.
Who do you think would be the best person to contact about getting the
visually impaired community more involved, and how many people should
we have backing this idea before we go to the commission? I would
really be interested in participating in whatever way I can.
