           Dear JERRY,

AARP Oregon will bring the conversation about Medicare and Social Security to your living room on August 26th.

Medicare and Social Security face long-term financial challenges, and AARP is working to put them on stable financial ground for the future. We know these programs provide critical benefits that protect your health and retirement. Conversations about the future of these programs have been taking place behind closed doors in Washington, DC and the American public hasn't been invited to the debate - until now.

AARP Oregon and television stations across the state will air Straight Talk on Medicare and Social Security, a one hour town hall meeting that is part of AARP's national conversation, You've Earned A Say, where local Oregon experts on Medicare and Social Security provide you with straightforward information about some of the Medicare and Social Security proposals that are being debated in Washington and on the campaign trail -- the pros and cons -- without the political jargon and spin. We'll talk about the major proposals on the table so you can find out what they mean for you and your family.

We want to hear from you - submit questions for this conversation no later than August 20th, and make your voice heard!
