Hello,
I actually wish I had known about and learned Latex before I went to college.  If you're interested in learning some basics, it seems a little more complicated when you get started, but once you get the hang of the basics, you should be able to format your homework responses easily enough.

I have three references bookmarked, I'm not sure if they'd be of much help, but you can take a look if you want.
